Chelsea Barracks ATES project
'Chelsea Barracks' is a 5,18ha former military site near the centre of London (City of Westmister). This site is being redeveloped in different phases to an area comprising residential, retail, healthcare and leisure uses. A Turnkey ATES system will be installed in different phases (2015-2018) for heating and cooling building complexes on site. After completion the groundwater part of the system will comprise of 5 well doublets in the Chalk aquifer with a planned flowrate of 153m³/h. This will make this ATES-system one of the largest in the UK.
AGT is responsible for designing and supervising the groundwater part of the ATES system. The first set containing 2 well doublets will be installed early 2015. AGT will supervise drilling, well development, pump testing and carry out data analysis and groundwater thermal modelling. Subsidiary IFTech NV is responsible for designing, delivery and installment of piping, heat pumps, heat exchangers and the control system taking care of communications with the building side of the installation.
